Dianne Buswell, the beloved Strictly Come Dancing star, has spoken to fans for the first time since the birth of her son and has shared an adorable revelation about his nickname.

The dancer, who welcomed her first child with boyfriend Joe Sugg earlier this month, took to social media to open up about life as a new mum. Dianne and Joe, who met and fell in love on the BBC One dance show, had announced their pregnancy back in September, and confirmed the arrival of baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg on March 18, 2026.
Joe Sugg shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, showing the first images of their son, including a sweet moment of Dianne bonding with the newborn. The couple revealed their baby boy’s birthdate, with Joe writing, “Never felt a love like it,” and introducing him as “Baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg.”
Since then, Dianne has returned to her YouTube channel to update her fans with a weekly vlog titled: “My first weekly vlog as a mummy.” In this emotional video, Dianne spoke directly to her audience while breastfeeding little Bowden. She shared, “Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. I’m here with little Bowden or little Bowie. I call him Bowie for short.”
Explaining the story behind the nickname, Dianne added, “It’s Bowden, but I also love the name Bowie. So, it’s Little Bowie to me.” The video also saw Dianne reflecting on how fast time has flown, saying, “It’s been a week since he’s born, I can’t believe it.”
She admitted that her days are spent nursing Bowden and trying to juggle the new rhythm of life. Despite the exhaustion, she couldn’t help but gush over her newborn, calling him “so cute” and expressing her immense love. Dianne shared, “I’m absolutely loving it… I’m just in this little bubble at the moment.”
